Some of my comments may come across as harsh, but I always have the author's best interests at heart. I make a lot of margin comments and make grammatical corrections inside brackets within the text. But I'm flexible if you have a preferred way of editing. I mostly enjoy a comprehensive edit, but will do only grammatical corrections if requested.
I'm great at plot development, word pictures (using words to create a picture in the reader's mind), being a sounding board for writer's block. I'm also a great cheerleader =)
My weakness is commas. If this is also your weakness, I suggest choosing another beta or have a beta simply for comma placement overview. Also, I'm not a Brit. I still have no idea what exactly a kipper is.
Alas, I love Severus and Hermione. They are my favorite ship. But I am not opposed to other ships. I'm fairly open about what I beta. See below for my restrictions.
I will not beta anything containing male pregnancy, anything that GLORIFIES child abuse/rape, or any story that contains slash as the featured ship. I am not opposed to having slash within a story, I just don't want it being the main point of the story, nor do I want to read lemons on it. |
