I'm willing to beta any ships other than Ron/Hermione, Snape/Lockhart, Snape/Tonks. I've read all of those, and they just don't make any sense to me (despite the first being a canon ship), so I won't be able to help you with them. | Notes: Turnaround time: My turnaround time varies greatly, but is usually at least a week. I am *very* detailed. All of my authors have been shocked at the level of detail I've provided, and have not been upset at the length of time after receiving what I've done. Aside from noting things inside the text (grammar, canon/real life details, spelling, punctuation, and sentence flow), I include a form at the end with the following information:

What I loved, and why
Problems I had, and why
Setting
Characters & Point of View
Dialogue (how natural is it, not punctuation)
Plot
Pacing and Showing/Telling

I also usually expect to see two drafts, at least, because a lot of the bigger changes sometimes mean that you're adding text, which means there may be new errors.
As for Brit-Picking: I do change the "Language" on Microsoft Word to "British English" to catch many American-British spelling problems, but I am an American, so I'm not a replacement for someone who actually uses the language on a daily basis.
I'm also willing to help people for whom English is not a native language. It may take me longer, however, and I may do a purely grammatical check before doing the story one... which means there may be three drafts instead of just two.
I'm not currently available, because I'm working on two long pieces and one shorter one. Because of my detail and turnaround time, I cannot take on more than that. |
