Welcome to THE PETULANT POETESS, a moderated online fiction archive dedicated to both Harry Potter Fanfiction and Original Stories and Poetry.
The Petulant Poetess archive was founded by NotSoSaintly in April of 2005 with the idea of creating a friendly atmosphere, dedicated to guiding and encouraging budding authors as well as accommodating the more seasoned writer. Stories going through the moderation process receive a final polishing through communication with the author with the express intent of presenting quality stories for the reader. A list of hard-working admins who contribute their free time out of love for the craft of writing and helping others may be found on the About Us page.
So grab a story off the shelf, pull up a chair, and get comfortable; the library is open, the tea (or coffee if you prefer) is hot, and everyone is welcome.

Loathe as I am to admit it, I must congratulate you on the resounding success of the TPP Review-A-Thon.
When I was first informed that there was a Review-A-Thon running, I wasn’t holding my breath. But now we’re counting over 3,000 reviews for this month. It seems you’re not as big a bunch of dunderheads as I thought. In light of this accomplishment, I have decided to accept my rightful place among you as a honorary admin.
Now, if you'll excuse me, it has come to my attention that there is a fic hosted on this fine website that involves me and some fluffy bunnies. I must address this situation post haste.
Also, if you could please inform me of what the hell squeeing is, I would be most appreciative.

| The State of TPP |
Together, we did it!
We are overwhelmed, astounded, and – most of all – grateful to the efforts of this community to keep TPP alive. Whether you gave a little or a lot or your best wishes or good adivice, we are humbled to learn just how much TPP means to so many.
Because of your generosity of spirit and pocket, we have reached our goal far more quickly than we expected.

| It's That Time Again |
Two years ago TPP was in crisis. We hosted an auction, and generous people offered the fruits of their creative labors for the good of the community. Generous people bid and won those labors, and we were able to pay for two years of hosting for the site.
Kyria continues to be remembered each chat night, as her donation to keep Chatzy ad-free is still going (for how long, we don't know).
Next month we are faced with a bill. We have enough left over from the auction to get us started, but we're short more than half of the fee.
What are we facing? Losing the site and everything archived here. Watching the community we've all built and the stories that brought us together--by authors who remain (and by those who have moved on)--the old favorites and new discoveries, all will be gone.
What can we do? As always, if we work together this archive and its community will survive (at least for another two years). If we can give a little--if many, many of us give just a little--we can do this.
