I entered fandom in 2000 and can remember a time when ffnet had fewer than 200 Harry Potter fics! I wrote one of the very, very first 'Snape-Hermione' stories, "Letter from Exile One Merciful Morning" as well as a Snape-centric (sort-of-Snily) fairy tale called "To Sever the Lining from a Cloud". Two comic fragments were "Sorting Songs, A History" (two subversive sorting songs and a literary history of the Hat's lamentable lyrical efforts) and "Why Slytherins Are Sexier", for which an imaginary Gryffindor sex manual "Quidditch in Bed" was invented. Another writer, Angel of the North, actually sat down and wrote the manual, and you can read that at ffnet.
In real life I work in the public sector as an artist.
