this morning i was finally able to give this chapter the attention it deserves. i loved how you handled the scenes with the two of them. i liked their voices a lot during their interactions/negotiations. and when snape was pacing and struggling for words, it kind of reminded me of mr. darcy, lizzy bennett! i always like when snape reminds me of darcy. :D

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Yes, exactly!!  That was very Mr Darcy of him, wasn't it?!  We obviously like our men to be proud!  Thanks so much for the lovely review... I spent a lot of time on the voice and interactions in this chapter, so I'm very pleased to learn you felt the scenes worked all right.  Next chapter has been added to the queue!

For the record, even though he was a meanie for making her  go back through it all again, Bertram probably did help her because she was trying to give an unbiased opinion.

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Yes, that's true.  Also, despite the fact that the memories were tough to examine, it was probably cathartic for her to view everything again as an adult this time.  Thanks so much for the review and stars!!!  Next chapter is in the queue...

This was brilliant. I was totally able to empathize with how Hermione was feeling. It's always horrible when you finally get the perfect moment you've been waiting for, and then you end up throwing it away because of a ridiculous argument between your heart and your mind. This was also very deep and touching. I hope that they can "do it right this time" and eventually Severus can find a little place in his heart for Hermione!! :)

Severus and Hermione's encounter in her laboratory was one of the most erotic I can imagine.  Perhaps that is because I am a Potions master, as well, and find that an inquisitive intellect and enigmatic personality are a perfect attractant.  I hope that they will be able to finally "get it right this time." I thought his statement that “I will not pretend to be in love with you,” could mean several different things.  It could have meant that he did not love her even though he was attracted to her.  Orrrrrrrrr... it could have meant that he would not be pretending... that in reality, he really had come to love her. This is such a wonderful story,, and I am thrilled each time I receive an email telling me that you have updated!I look forward to reading the next update.  I want to find out if they finally "get it right this time."  Hot dog!And I want to know how the Christmas Eve ball at Malfoy Manor turns out.  That should be an interesting read. And what is ol' Bertie up to?  I know he hasn't just gone away... he'll be showing himself sooner or later.Beth

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Thanks, Beth!  I'm so glad you liked the encounter in the lab - it was one of my favorites, too! That's an excellent point you made about the semantics of his phrase, "I will not pretend to be in love with you."  He is very careful with the words he chooses, and I don't think she quite appreciates that fact yet.The next chapter is in the queue, and it's full of lemony goodness for you!  And the chapter after that is the Christmas Eve ball at Malfoy Manor - so lots of events will soon be unfolding!!Thanks again for the awesome review, Beth!!!

I just realise that I have not review this story after 8 chapter, and I am so sorry, because it had not been my intention. I think that when I read story ( chapter ) I didnt have time .A lot of thoughts  is crosing my mind at the present and it has ewerything whith present interaction betwine Severus and Hermione . Their mutual settelment is a littel bit one sided , because I can see that she is in love whit him and he is still notpositive of his fillings  .He desire her and respect her , but if he intend to have a relationship whith her , he must love her . END , I hope that what accure betwine her and Lucius is not some terible crime , but I am eager for more .

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Thank you very much for the review!!  I'm glad that you've continued to read the story.  I think it's difficult to really know what he is feeling, as the story is written entirely from her point of view.  As their relationship develops, I think their "settlement" will most likely be rendered moot.  And never fear - we will soon get to the chapter with the Christmas Eve ball, wherein many secrets will be revealed.  Thanks again for reading and reviewing!

Wow, this is great! I actually reread a few chapters that I had read about two weeks ago. I'm really impressed by how you make a simple kiss on the hand seem so erotic. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the actual smut...Lucius? Hmm... I'm hoping it's not what I'm thinking. But I really want to find out!

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Thanks so much for the review: So glad you liked this chapter!!  The next chapter has been loaded into the queue, and it's full of the actual smut you mentioned.;-)And then it's on to the Christmas Eve ball where lots of secrets will be revealed...Thanks again!

Do we ever find out what happened between Severus and Bertram?! I can just guess who came out on top, lol!And wow! Do you have the ability to write some serious UST!! Though I suspect it will soon become RST, if that is even a phrase, lol. I also suspect that will be just as good!!Underneath this chapter, which was relatively light, there is still so much smoldering. Hermione's past. What exactly happened with Lucius. And Snape! I am hoping he can get past Lily...Lovely, as always. Looking forward to more!

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

I'll let you use your imagination to 'fill in the blanks' of the altercation between Bertram and Snape.  I can't provide details, but I can tell you it certainly wasn't pretty!Oooh - I love the phrase RST!  And considering the next chapter is titled "Of Joyful Bliss," your suspicions could be correct!  ~winks~I'm glad you picked up on the little questions about Hermione's past still lingering... There will be quite a few revelations on this in the next couple of chapters...Thanks again for the lovely review... Next chapter is in the queue!

I was so thrilled to see a new chapter of this delightful story.  I like the fact that you take into consideration the risks and hesitation they feel over taking them.  You handly their mutual attraction and discomfort with a deft hand.  Simply lovely. I can't wait to discover what her issue is with Lucius, despite the suspicion that it will make me uncomfortable to find out.  Thank you for not reforming everyone in the ensuing years.  Some people won't change and don't even try, and it's realistic to note that. Now, where's the next chapter?

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

What an amazing review - thank you so much for the lovely stars and flattering words!I've always thought these characters were well-suited to one another, and one of the reasons is their innate sense of logic and reasoning.  So it felt natural (for me, anyway) that they'd approach the entering of a relationship in a very organized, orderly manner.  Lots more to be revealed about Lucius... and I don't think there's any danger of reformation there...Next chapter is in the queue!!

Oh, I love this so much. Just raw desire and fear--it's all so human and lovely. And freaking hot, too.

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

Thank you so much!!  I'm glad the fear came through adequately... and I'm so pleased you thought the desire was hot!!  I had such a fabulous time writing this story (and this pairing, in particular) and finding out that others enjoy it half as much as I did is simply icing on the cake!!Next chapter is in the queue!!

I was happy to see an update to this story, as it is one of my favourite WIP's at the moment.

I think if Peeves is wise, then he will stay out of Snape's way for a while. :-p

I suspect Snape cares more for Hermione than he is willing to reveal... looking forward to more!

I would love to know what transpired between Severus and Bertram.

I also agree with Hermione he may have said he was not a romantic man but, he sure knows how to turn a phrase when he puts his mind to it.

I am curious as to what transpired between the evil Sr Malfoy and Hermione... I suspect it may have been a forced encounter.

More soon?

Response from HogwartsClassof91 (Author of A Murder of Crows)

LOL - I don't think Bertram stood a chance against Snape, although I'd love to find out the details of their altercation as well!!There's quite a bit to reveal regarding the reasons Hermione is reluctant to see Lucius again... I believe some of it will come to light in the next couple of chapters (after we get past the pure, unapologetic smut I couldn't resist writing for the next chapter!!)...Thanks so much for the review and the shiny stars... You spoil me!!
