That was beyond a little freaky. Seducing Ginny's mind to the point of masturbating to the memory of Tom, right in front of Harry and Hermione. Them having to witness it. Snape came off as really 'slimy' throughout. Harry was really being a sport about it ... same goes for HG. Gin's lack of response is curious, or will it hit her when she wakes?

She was already reacting when Harry came back to report. She was crying and saying she was sorry and then tried to jump his bones, but he didn't do it. There will be a lot more going on when she meets Tom face to face-soon!Thanks,Livvy

I never read angsty - torture fic - I am the mom of 7 kids, three of whom were adopted after going through horrors that little ones should never know - so I really don't have the stomach for that kind of tale. However, I enjoy your work and I read this piece. I would like to thank you for how you have presented and handled this facet of self-hurt. I'm no clinician, I just get the broken and battered souls that life can produce; but you have echoed much of the confusion I have seen, while maintaining an empowerment of the human spirit. Thank you. After that, nice comments about timing and internal monologue seem trite - but are felt as well! :-)

It's nice to see a mature Harry. Hermione on the other hand is going to need so much more reassurance. One thing that bothers me is that she doesn't seem to know Severus. Hopefully they will have the time to get to know one another beyond their initial desires.Really liked this chapter as it showed how far Hermione has yet to come.

Yes, they had spent the summer together working for the Order, but that was a teacher/student relationship still, even though she was an Order member and an adult herself. They need to have time to get to know each other on an even level. Thanks,Livvy

hey,so i've been liking this story quite a bit so far even though the cutting thing mildly horrified me, i still liked it a lot. however when i read this chapter i had to stop to write this review after the part where ginny's memory's with tom came up. I'll probably go back and finish reading but i thought it important that it be pointed out that Ginny didn't have breasts as an eleven year old when tom made her open the c of s. if its supposed tom visiting her in her dreams at the present time in the story, then it is not clear enough and does not fit well several paragraphs after her and harry are all lovy dovy..
don't worry to much about my commentary though im just being picky, ur story is still a strong piece of work.

Thanks for reviewing. Yes, Ginny and Tom's relationship was one that developed over time. Ginny said when she told her story to everyone that ever since he had first possessed her she had been dreaming strange dreams about events in her day, then Tom revealed himself to her, she in her sixteen-year-old-form to his sixteen-year-old form - the friend she had. He continued to manipulate her mind, placing images of them having a sexual relationship and then Ginny mind went along with it, especailly after he threatened to kill her family. Then came the demand for information through her dreams, pointed dreams of what Hermione was saying about Severus.I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. These dreams have been taking palce over a span of years, Becoming sexual only when she reached puberty and had sexual thoughts and needs.I hope this makes things clear. great chap which describes every one's emotion clearly. Harry is a superb boyfriend. Scene of sev & gin was nice but i was wondering that maybe it would show conflict in mione's mind after abrupt change in severus's behaviour to her after last chapter.

Great chapter, I can see why Harry and Hermione are upset. They are not sexually experienced so that scene with Ginny would throw them for a loop.

Intense chapter. I was proud of Harry-- he acted the mature adult in this, even though he did not like the situation at all. I love your sexual take on the Dark Arts. As for Severus and Hermione-- still much to work on.

We still have to play out the plan to lure Wormtail, kill him and have Severus pose as him in order to slip V. the Amortentia potion. Then Ginny has to do her thing and face the bastard. Oh my! Much drama stilll ahead before we can get Severus and Hermione moving onward.Thanks,Livvy

Hermione's not the only one who found this chapter squicky. Very sordid. But I am looking forward to the rest of the story and plot movement.

Kudos, livvy! The construction of this chapter let the reader understand the differing emotions experienced by each character at every point in the story.
First we see just how tense Severus is about what he has to do, and we can surmise that he is uncomfortable having to manipulate the coming moments in front of Hermione and Harry:
A slamming door jerked her out of her thoughts. "Potter," a deep voice said curtly. "Miss Weasley."
Ginny turned, and Professor Snape walked out from his office, looking tired and impatient.
As Severus begins setting the "mood" for what is to come, we know that he is still worried. Ginny is holding tightly onto Harry's hand, but Severus cannot allow this to happen:
"Release her," he snapped at Harry. "She must be untouched except by the blood administer of the potion.""I have to hold something!" she insisted. She was so scared and could sense the impatience and irritation flow from Snape. She wanted to smack him.
At this point, Severus realizes that he must change his timbre to calm Ginny:"Close your eyes," he said softly.Ginny closed her eyes tightly, and Snape released her hand, gathering her hair and brushing it all behind her—his fingertips tickled the hairs on her neck, sending chills up her spine."Relax," he whispered. "I need you to release your tension. No one can do it for you except you and I."However, after all was said and done, Hermione was hurt and disappointed that Severus would have had an erection, and she could not comprehend why that would happen if he were not romantically attracted to Ginny. With heartfelt concern for her feelings, Severus had to convince her that she and she alone was the object of his desire:
Severus took her face in his hands. "Soon," he murmured. "Soon and I will fulfill you again, sweet one," he whispered. "Then there will be no distant words and clinical terms for us. When I fulfill you, I will use my whole body, not just my voice, but also my hands and my lips, every part of me. Then when you are relaxed and at peace from my touch, I will hold you to me and will not let you go until you ask me."Promise?" she said as she began to whimper."Nothing could be more important," he replied. "As soon as we are alone tonight, I will be at your beck and call. I will do whatever you wish to sate you," he said pointedly as he took her into his arms.
They walked back together to the dungeons. Severus wished he could hold her close to him, to reassure her he meant what he said. He loved her and wanted only her.But time alone with Hermione was not to be:Much to Severus disappointment, Hermione left shortly after Harry returned and had announced it would be best if Hermione took Ginny to her room.This gave the two wizards time to talk honestly about what had happened, and Harry realized that Severus Snape was in love with his best friend.This was a wonderful chapter –in its content and in its construction. I think you should give yourself a pat on the back!Beth

What an intense chapter. I liked that Severus didn't let Hermione go with out calling her on her insecurity. I like how you're building a feeling of respect between Harry and Severus. Very nicely written story. Can't wait for the next chapter to post.

Another amazing chapter Livvy! You had me seriously worried when Hermione stormed out and was talking about "finishing it". But then the footfalls came and I felt soooo much better. Seriously though this chapter was great! I Loved seeing Harry grow up and act maturely when dealing with the Ginny situation, and of course him letting on that he knows his love is Hermione. Just seeing all the characters developing more in this chapter was really really great. Bring on chapter 12! Much Love ~ Karen

Wow that was intence. Poor Harry to have to watch while Giiny gave herself to Tom and not react must have been difficult. I am glad that Severus went after Hermione and she listened to him so he could explain everything, they are making progress. Looking forward to your next chapter and how this all plays out.

Excellent chapter. I think the concept of the Datk Arts being seductive is a great way to explain their lure. I think my favorite part of this chapter is the conversation between Snape and Harry. I thought it was wonderful they are starting to understand each other. Looking forward to the next chapter!!

Another great chapter. I knew there was a connection with Ginny and Tom, but hadn't realized how deeply she 'longed' for him. Harry took all of that really well. I don't know of two many men that could watch their girlfriends being brought to that state by one man and having her lusting after another. I think it might give them a complex or something.

Another great chapter, you did a great job with the seducing scene, werey well done! While I doubt that Severus and Harry will ever become friends, I also loved how you had both of them handle this situation so maturely and soberly as they did, I can't imagine it done better!

Intense chapter! I'm glad to see that Severus and Hermione have worked things out some, but she still seems on the edge. I loved how Harry gave Severus the talk about his relationship with Hermione. Very disturbing. I want to congratulate you on making Dark Magic seem seductive, and at the same time repugnant. The discussion between Harry and Snape was brilliant as well. It was nice to see both characters bend a bit, finding a common ground.
