Hello, all. I'm Velvet Song.
I wrote the first half of Damsels and Dragons back in 2007, but due to complications in my life, I had to give up the story. In 2010, I thought things had finally settled down and that I would be able to finish the story appropriately, so I began reposting my "baby". Unforunately, things took a sour turn, and I realized that I would never be able to finish the story like I dreamed of doing, and chose to pass it on to the wonderful MsTree.
While I currently do not write fanfiction, I do hope that there will come a time when I can come back to the fandoms I love and spin the wild tales that dance in my fanciful head. But until then, I will continue reading and enjoying the brilliant talents of my fellow writers.

It's kind of odd but normal that she keeps looking over her shoulder expecting to see him. It would be hard to basically take over his life and not see him anymore.

Hermione is slowly finding out about the mystery of the Shadow Dragon. I'm so sad to hear that you are too ill at this time to finish the story! My dad broke his back in three places in '94, and I remember his recovery was long and painful. If that's anything like what you're going through, you must be sweating blood. My sympathy goes out to you. If I may cast my vote, I'd like to see MsTree take over, if she is able to. I think she'd do a commendable job of finishing! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers...

Actually, mine is back related, though I am doing much better since I reposted that first chapter.I had severe scoliosis and that fused steel rods into my back in '99. However, the only covered the biggest curve and left my neck and lumbar. After 10 years of no treatment (because the surgery was 'supposed' to stop it), my neck and lower back kept curving, plus the actual vertebrae are beginning to grow together. So now, the twisting of my spine is cutting into my spinal cord and the bones that are growing together are pinching the spinal nerves that are coming out.I'm doing a lot of therapy, because the surgery to fix it will cost (well, at least it did 10 years ago) about 70K or more!Let her know. I've read her work and I like it!

I have Scoliosis, but not nearly as progressive. But I am so glad you're feeling better than you did! Just to let you know that I emailed MsTree so now it's just a matter of keeping our fingers crossed!

Hmmm, a dragon who protects students, makes rounds of the castle at night, and who mocked/played with Hermione? His behavior sounds familiar!

I think I have a good idea who the dragon is! But why Snape bequeathed things to Hermione in his will, after not particularly liking her, after not befriending her - is a mystery! One question: why does Lucius call the dragon Athair?
