This tale is for readers interested in adventures and perspectives that a canon character could not reasonably have.

Is the House Cup a rigged game? Is Hermione Granger delusional? Is Harry Potter a bad thing? Is the Order of the Phoenix incompetent? Is the need for a hero a sign of society on the verge of collapse? Can an ordinary student betray everyone?

Quite a chapter full of humour along with bittersweet insights--he's truly having to juggle and meet so many people's needs. For now, it seems, it is all agreeable with him.

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Agreeable?  He might think he's just squeaking through.I always thought the most revealing scene was at the Dracula flick.  I haven't read the original Bram Stoker, and hence, should be reluctant to give an opinion, but nevertheless, I always thought that most of the impact of Dracula was the arrival of a Continental gentleman in the midst of Victorian England.Overall, glad you caught the humor and hope you enjoyed what passes for insights.

Enjoyed Luna and Shan having some fun with Hermann; he seems to be in a dilemma with how to deal with them both, being ambushed by two, but he's managing quite well! He's having quite a variety of enriching experienced--defending himself in verse though is fortunately an innate talent of many he possesses!;-)

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Ravenclaws at play.  He's saved by Luna and Shan being quick witted enough to join in a heroic fantasy.  Unfortunately, the handsome hero did not get to save the beautiful princess. The scene is inspired by an escapade from the 'Odyssey' where Ulysses is shipwrecked and climbs out of the sea to greet the daughters of an island king.

Wonderfully humourous, erotic, and bittersweet; he's fully come of age, all too aware and so very sensitive--a blessing or a curse? Both, perhaps, yes? It's who he is. Is he doing wrong, the age old question, and how will his time in Britain affect him?

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

A difficult chapter to write.  It seemed overdone as did the 'kata' chapter, but that's who our character is.One writer once said that he created drama by having his character make a mistake and then giving him intelligence.

Love the humour and informative content and flow of the interaction with Luna and Shan; Hermann is still distracted, being deeply keen on Padma. Will nothing help? Yes, his father should have warmed him or rather shared with him the possibilities and ways of dealing with the pain... But maybe Hermann is or in the process of learning his own cures. Great chapter!

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Thanks.  It's an interlude chapter where we, once again, see Hermann's dark and violent side, but this part of him appears to connect him with others.  It also tries to bring Luna into a social group in a natural manner. One of the objectives of the narrative was to present a sequence of stand-alone scenarios that finally form a coherent whole.

Love the erotica, and both Narcissa and Hermann's discovery and exploration of each other as well as each one's inner thoughts/realisations and sensations. Intimate and profound.

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Thanks.  The idea was that erotica should either advance the plot or contribute to character development.

I'm happy to see Hermann expanding his world and social circles, as he has opportunities to do so; it can only enrich his experience--also, I love his ability to take each person as a 'clean slate', as well as not letting them influence his relationship with Draco--there is an admirable open-mindedness about his character that is quite refreshing, and it's nice to have Draco have someone like this in his life, of a more objective nature.

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

In this, now AU, story, Hermann meets Draco at an opportune time.  Even Draco notices his mother's improvement, and there is the Malfoy's, and everyone else's,  misperception of Durmstrang.  Neither Draco nor Hermann have a high opinion of Hogwarts, although for different reasons.Perhaps with the girls, he is desparate for female company and not inclined to be judgemental.

What a lovely, flowing build, layering on, and insight into both Hermann's and Narcissa's perceptions and needs--they both seem to have a reached a much needed bliss together. And again, I love having an original male character, Hermann's internal thoughts about and reactions to others and their predicaments, from Vincent and Gregory's, Draco's, and Narcissa's.

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Thanks.  Glad you mentioned all the characters since the chapter tries to make them human with Vincent and Gregory displaying perception and Draco and Narcissa showing vulnerability.  A major element is Narcissa's trepidation.

Enjoyed Hermann's interaction with the Sorting Hat (Ravenclaw, eh?), and each of his interactions with the different members of the different Houses in each class. We'll see if he still will be looking for 'a two-girls for his trio', or if his association with Draco, a Slytherin, will lead him to different interests and expectations--great chapter!

Response from Fairfield (Author of The Hermann Chronicles)

Very glad you liked the chapter.  It attempts character development by scenes and interaction.
