Though I thoroughly enjoyed the letter Severus wrote Hermione in this "B" ending, I prefer "A" since he does get to live his life out of the shadows.
Ending "B" almost makes me feel like he lived the first part of his life in Lily's shadow, and the second part in Hermione's shadow, with the fear of discovery. It seems so sad that he is continuing to be in the shadows, which is why I like how he is brought out in Ending "A".

:) I think that each ending holds their own appeal. I would like for Severus to come out of the shadows and finally be happy, but another part of me suspects that he's more likely to stay there.

i believe I prefer this one, oddly. I'm usually a sucker for a happy ending, but I think this one matches your story better.

Oh - this one was so sad - I like the other one better. I know - I just picking my fave of the the 2 - top marks though for what it is

:) Thank you. It's interesting, it's been pretty much 50/50 over who preferred which. I'm glad that you enjoyed the story.
Top score for this chapter - I love what Severus said to Rose - good line. I do believe that he has fallen in love with Hermione over time and I cannot wait to read what happens in the last chapter. I think she had to stop writing him to force him to make a choice - good show on that one

HA HA! Thank you. :) Yes, I think that he fell in-love with her, too. And she simply had to press his hand.
I cannot believe that after all this time - that he still would not do something - write - send something or simply return her letters. I do not see the motivation for it but hopefully all will be revealed later on. I love the series of letters - her life is so tragic and interesting - good writing on that part

Thanks. I think that he was used to being in the background, it was the most comfortable thing for him. And to reply to her would initally have been to confirm that it was him. Then, later, he just felt that it would be exposing himself to too many unknowns.
