She hadn't thought she could hurt any more. She hated being wrong. "You didn't want to be found, did you?" "No." She hated being right.Oh, my! That sums up everything. He didn't want to be found, but still wanted someone to come to find him. Lovely.
Nicely done :) I really like the bit about Crooks being a security blanket.
