Halloween

Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot. Characters are all JKR's, I just take them out for exercise.

“Happy Halloween!” Ginny trilled brightly as she approached Harry and Ron.

Ron raised an eyebrow as he surveyed her costume. She was dressed in Muggle clothes; a tight, ribbed, black tank top hugged her torso, and ridiculously baggy black jeans over odd chunky boots (also black) completed the outfit while a couple of inches of black eye makeup obscured her bright eyes somewhat.

Harry raised an eyebrow, looking oddly dazed. “You call that – a costume?” Ron asked in disbelief.

Ginny glanced down at her clothes and frowned at Ron. “Yes,” she replied.

“And exactly what are you supposed to be?” Ron asked in a clipped tone.

“A Muggle goth,” Ginny replied with an enthusiastic smile.

“It’s... a very... nice costume,” Harry choked out.

“Thanks.” Ginny flashed him a smile.

Ron shook his head, still looking incredulous. “That’s... that’s just wrong,” he said.

“Good evening, boys,” Hermione’s voice said from behind them.

Ron turned around and promptly started coughing and choking.

Hermione was standing there, her usually bushy hair in sleek, straight layers framing her face. She was wearing a bell-sleeved white blouse, if you could call it that, that ended two inches above her belly button and a green skirt with an elaborate gold design woven through the bottom edge.

Ron had turned bright red and looked as though he was having trouble standing up.

“Happy Halloween,” Hermione said with a smirk.
