"Here's a plot bunny for Lucius lovers.

I've seen more than one "Daddy Long-Legs"-style story with Hermione being the orphan and Snape being the benefactor. I think there was a challenge, a long time ago.
Thing is... Lucius Malfoy is the one in a better position to be a benefactor (since we know he's rich) and with very good reasons to want to remain anonymous.

So what would happen if Lucius was the "Daddy Long-Legs" instead of Snape? Not a romantic interest, but simply someone whom Hermione has to depend on."

Naturally, she turns to a book for advice on courting rituals; however, it fails to warn her about jealous Malfoys, the usefulness of owlBay, hungry horses, wizards in cricket whites, interfering elves, perspicacious offspring, the lure of libraries or the life-long loyalty of Crups. She does discover a fondness for elf-made wine and the production thereof, even though 'Château Bonfoi Elf-made Wines' has absolutely nothing to do with Lucius and everything to do with a mysterious arbiter – who is perfectly capable of telling Lucius exactly where he can stick his wand.

Culmination

Hermione, Severus, and Draco's lives become intertwined in ways none of them could have predicted or imagined. This is a story that weaves three perspectives together: Hermione's, Snape's, and Draco's. Please note that this story will end up being MA and contain slash.

After Dumbledore is killed by Snape, Voldemort goes on to take over the Ministry of Magic and installs Snape as Headmaster at Hogwarts. Believing the remaining horcruxes to be hidden at Hogwarts, Harry, Hermione, and Ron return to Hogwarts. Needing a way to spy on Snape, Hermione comes up with an idea that has unintended consequences.

Draco believed that he and Severus had something special. But before returning to Hogwarts, Severus mysteriously ends their relationship. Dejected, Draco returns to Hogwarts determined to win Severus back.

Severus Snape is working on a secret project, one that will give him a power no other human has ever had before. But the project has withered to a standstill as he is overwhelmed with his new duties as Headmaster and Voldemort's favorite Death Eater.
