This site is amazing. The numerous reviews and reads I have received here has been beyond humbling. However as I have gotten older, RL has taken main priority to reading and writing fanfic. Any tiny fraction of personal time I am able to indulge myself has been spent in the fandom, but I must admit it had been dwindling more and more. I will NEVER abandon anything I have begun, and attempt to finish my WIPs every day. However, like many authors, I have made the mistake of submitting my work to more archives than I am capable of maintaining with the care that is due them. If I am able and time willing, I might continue to update my fics here, but my main priority lies elsewhere. MODERATED ARCHIVES ARE A BLESSING AND NECESSARY FOR QUALITY FIC. I stand by that. Unfortunately submitting my fics to various moderated archives means more time necessary to edit the various mistakes each individual archives will find in my work. My fics will continue to be updated at Ashwinder and Potter Place Archives, anywhere else will have to take a back seat. This is my problem and I take full responsibility. I'm surprised that Severus has so much bitterness in him. How can he fall in love with her if he can't work through it, and very quickly I must add. After all, the whole Marriage Act has a purpose... *grin*

I would love to know what is actually going on in that head of his. It seems like he knows he is meant to marry her, but is almost waiting for the woman he met in the future, not the one she is now. Poor man. It must be very confusing for him.

Despite Hermione's vaunted intelligence, she can also be monumentally thick at times -- clearly, Dennis is infatuated with her but has no chance of being with her because the Marriage Enhancement Act will forbid two Muggleborns from marrying each other (even if Hermione were interested in him, and it seems fairly clear that she isn't in the slightest). I feel sorry for him -- and also for Severus, since he's been fighting with his own attraction to her even though he has reason to believe that he'll end up married to her.

Very good development so far (can't believe its only 2 chapters)!I think the disappointment on Severus' part in regards to the photo is in finding out *this* is how he ends up married to Hermione (a question he was asking himself from the beginning). Finding out (as of right now anyway) that it wasn't initiated on either of their parts by any type of feelings, but compelled based on the MEA...I like the feeling implied in the story that there's something more already there on Hermione's part its just now a matter of convincing Severus.Can't wait to read more!

This situation is going to get much worse before it even begins. Poor Hermione, she's in for a rough ride. She must feel so sad. Stupid photo!!! Severus needs to get himself under control. He's not doing himself any favors spouting off. Great update. :D

Excellent! Severus continues to do battle with himself and loses at every turn. If I've read the "Baby Boom Enhancement Act" correctly, Severus will have to submit Contract Proposals to five different witches by the end of January, 2000.And Hermione will have to accept a Contract Proposal by the last day of her 21st year. It is now September, 1999, and Hermione is about 18 or 19 years old... But the law doesn't specify how young a witch can be when she accepts a Contract, so within the next four months Severus will have to propose marriage to and be accepted by a witch. That means that both of them will have to face their thoughts about the other and decide if they want to take a chance on having to marry someone they really don't want to, or whether they will wed each other and make the best of the situation that they can.The photo that Hermione took of Severus showed him looking infuriated and horrified, but then he seemed to turn away in defeated disappointment. What's a girl to think? Well of course, she will think that he is so NOT looking forward to marrying her... But looking at things logically, if he really didn't want to marry her, he could submit Contracts to five other witches that he might find more acceptable. I think the look on his face was one of horror that he might lose her to another wizard's Contract, and disappointment at that thought. Besides, he had defended her at Headmistress McGonagall's sharp rebuke (never mind that he had also told Hermione that he wasn't talking TO her when she thanked him).
This gets gooder and gooder. I can't wait to see how all this plays out!
