I usually don't mind a bit of bdsm but I think this is a bit too much for me. How a person can delight in pain and humiliation is beyond me.

Well, the point is that this is a bad romance. Things will eventually get better, but right now both Hermione and Severus are a little bit insane. There are people who can delight in pain and humiliation and be emotionally and psychologically sound. Right now, Hermione and Severus are not those people.
