It will happen for them, they just need to be patient. If they even know the meaning of that word, lol. I'm sure Knowi doesn't.
I don't know whether to be screaming, "Oh no!" or "Oh yes!" :) This is cracking me up.
Well of course Knowi has work to do, lol. This is too much fun, plotting against their owners. Cats are too smart as it is, so I can imagine with some kneazle mixed in, they could take the world by storm.

I could just picture Crooks trying to keep it together long enough to find *something* positive to say about that perfectly horrible prose.Poor Knowi. Over the years, I have been trained by many of my small, furry owners. I have been trained by both, cats and small dogs {or as the males of my family say, cats that bark} all experts in the fine art of, getting their own way. I have to say ,that Severus and Hermione may as well give in gracefully, they can not win,their fate is sealed. The Masters have spoken.

Knowi's style is... something, isn't it? Her full story is on the archive, so unfortunately there's at least one of that sort at TPP!

Oh, Knowi, you little treasure! Both myself and next-door's-ginger-cat agree (of course I would agree with Simba - I may be human, but I am not completely silly), laughter can be a great way to encourage progress. I need not implore you to persist, as your far-superior mind is made up. Crooks' offer of assisted 'delete' key location has a familiar ring to it... As though a certain human could have spoken those exact words in purrfectly pronounced sarkiness ;o)

Tea, this is fantastic! I have personal experience of being 'trained' by the Furry-footed ones (including next door's ginger cat) and I still haven't worked out how they do it! I would not put it past them to use the internet (kitteh iz on ur keyboardz readin' ur e-mailz). Love the way Knowi strategically uses S's speech pattern and vocabulary. Thanks for a morning laugh to go with coffee!

Oh, my goodness...this was precious! (I shudder at the thought of a cat being allowed/able to use the computer, however...especially through voice-activated software!) I have a question, though...if Hermione visits Severus every Thursday, then surely she knows about Knowi...and if that's the case, wouldn't she already suspect that Severus might have an interest in her given that he named his cat Knowi Tall (Know-It-All)? Or was Hermione the one who gave Knowi to Severus (with the result that Knowi was christened in her honor)?

I've no doubt Hermione shares your reluctance (else wouldn't she have accommodated Crookshanks already?) to a certain extent.As for Knowi, she was introduced in Lessons in Metempsychosis and Saṅsāra, and her origin story comes out over the course of that story. Hermione is fully aware of who and what she is!

I had a look at "Lessons in Metempsychosis and Samsara" as you suggested..much is explained (at least about Knowi, that is...the plot of that story seems rather convoluted and is eluding my attempts to understand it thus far). I'd already figured out that unless Knowi had been a gift from Hermione in some way, she must have a few characteristics -- perhaps more than a few -- which reminded him of Hermione, and I gather that Knowi has long, wavy/curly fur of a rather mousy brown color. I can see how that combined with her temperament -- since being bossy is unfortunately one of Hermione's less-appealing traits -- would be enough to bring Hermione to mind.

Lessons in Metempsychosis and Saṅsāra does have a complex plot, but it's in no way "convoluted" – every bit of it matters and contributes to issues raised in the story summary. Perhaps once I have more than a single full chapter posted here, you'll feel less lost. Perhaps not. Tastes in reading materials vary.

*grin* It's a good thing I don't have any cats at the moment. This story might give them ideas. The cats I've had in the past had enough ideas without having a story give them more. ^_^
