"Surprise Surprise" is such an apropriate chapter title in more ways than one. I was looking for a new story to capture my attention and SUPRISE here it is. I like the way you covered the backstory leading to the present. I'm glad that Severus isn't being portrayed as the shunned, unsung hero of the War and that Hermione is showing a maturity in trying to think beyond book-learned knowledge. I'm hoping that the new teacher (former Huffelpuff Head Girl) doesn't try to get to Severus herself. She either doesn't matter much to the story OR you didn't want to divulge too much too soon. Thank you, I am now engrossed with this story and begging for updates shall now commence (lol).

Well, now, *I* am surprised as well! I'm glad you are enjoying the story so much. As far as Miss Matilda Fletchley goes, I don't want to give an original character such as her a starring role on the stage. However, she will have an important part to play =)

Thanks! I'd love to rewrite this story from Harry's perspective. His post-war character development is so fun to play with. More soon!
Just finished re-reading all 11 chapters and am waiting to see what happens next. Love the build up of the Snape and Hermione relationship. Will our mysterious baddie be making another appearance, and am curious to find out what promise Severus made to Malfoy.

I never understood why hermione and ron got together in the book. If things don't go his way he sulks and gets into fights with hermione. Also your Ginny stays true to the books- she is such a witch. (sorry I'm a ginny basher).

No problem about the Ginny-bashing! Some people are too sensitive, but, really, all the characters have their ugly sides, and sometimes those need to be brought out in a story.... Thanks for the review!

I liked Severus and Harry rather reluctantly working together. I loved Harry pushing the Minister. I'm glad Severus and Hermione were willing to work it out.
