I just got a chance to read your update. Brilliant again. I love all the plot twists and interactions with Snape. What is he trying to tell her and steer her away from? Great work!

That was pure, unadulterated Snape! Prat! But is he actually trying to warn her about Teach because Teach is bad, or just because he doesn't want her involved with someone? I think it's the former, there's something (can't quite put my finger on it) about him that I don't like.
Does he choose to appear as his younger self? Is he that vain, LOL? Or does he just think he can seduce her more easily?
Well, now you've got me and my friends hooked! You scared the heck out of Shell last chapter! (good work!)

I don't think it's a question of choosing how to appear. I think that, throughout our lives, we sort of retain in our heads an idea of how we look - even as we grow older, we can see our 'young' faces in the mirror and feel how we felt when we were young. So I suppose if we could all manifest after death, we would do so in whichever appearance we associate with ourselves - in Snape's case, what he looked like in his youth. (Hope that made sense; I'm being a bit dense today.)

SQUEEEEE... I just saw chapter 10 was up! I'm packing right now, so I can't stay and read until tonight, but I just had to tell you...last night, after midnight, I was reading chapter 9, you know with the marbles etc...Well, I closed my laptop and turned off the lights and as SOON as I put my head on the pillow a blue light started glowing in my room!!!!!!I just about died.Of course, the logical side of me was like, "Shell, that's the cell phone light, saying it's done charging"but the scardy cat in me took over. bwhahahahah...Thanks, dear... you are really FREAKING me out here!!!! What bothers me is, why would somebody with a formidable thirst for research NOT research the man who is giving her a nice-sized blank check to follow her muse? A jealous Snape it appears to be, but somehow it doesn't quite fit. Would he be jealous of any man or just Teach? I suspect there is more to Teach than Hermione knows.

Just fantastic!! I love jealous ghost!Snape. The dream sex is so so hot and I want them to be able to go all the way, but I think the message is pretty clear: no sex with Teach. This story has be totally hooked, thank you and look forward to more!

Yeah, I would scream too!So, this red, green thing is a true thing then?? I've never heard of it... so very interesting! I love the conversation they are having and the questions she's asking... oh, I wish this was a movie... playing with the lights and shadows of the figure before her... that would be such scary fun! hahahahAnd question... the little quotes at the top of the chapters... could you explain them to me?I hope you have many more chapters, because I do not want this to end anytime soon.Shell~

Yes, the Urim and Thummim are 'real' in the sense that I did not make them up. :) You can find them mentioned exactly where I said, as well, in the Bible. It's such an interesting piece of lore that it crops up in lots of other places. For example, if you watch LOST, you will perhaps remember the bodies they discovered in the cave in the first season. Those bodies had a white stone and a black stone with them - a reference, I suspect, to the Urim and Thummim. :)So the quotes at the top of the chapters. I am crap at coming up with titles, so I tend to use songs. Those little quotes are a snippet of lyric from the song whose title is the title of the chapter, i.e. 'Bad Moon' by Creedence Clearwater Revival. I try to choose bits that are related to the content of the chapter - a little preview, if you will - but really, it's just a bit of fun, to distract me from being a bad title-maker. :)
