I know, it's terrible, isn't it? :DThe only person who can--Snape himself!I know that it was ages and ages ago when I wrote the chapter in question, so I'll give a quick jog to the memory.  Bella was ruminating about Snape, and she was satisfied that Nagini's venom would be slowly seeping into his brain, twisting his mind and perceptions  slowly driving him insane.  Snape is creating his own hell and his own punishments at the moment.Hope that was helpful :)Thanks for the review and staying with the story :)

It's odd, but I had the idea that they had nothing in those latter years under Voldemort's wing.  I imagined that their wealth and home were all 'donated' to the cause.  Money can sort all manner of things, and I fancied that Voldemort was using Malfoy as his own personal bank.  I think that towards the end, all they had was each other.  The problem now, is that they have no protection and no leverage... no power.

He's vulnerable; he has no wand and no allies.  Everything has shifted for him.  His wealth and family home have been confiscated; his future line has been severed, and to cap it all, the one who could possibly give him some semblance of an existance back is comatose.  Even if evyerthing goes his way though, he will always have his enemies and his regrets.

Do not fret for Severus; he's actually relatively okay at the moment... certainly safer than he was while Bella was on the ward wth him :)I thought as you do--that they were a trophy couple--but as I read the closing chapters of Deathly Hallows, it seemed that they just wanted to get out of there alive.  Given what I've put them through in this story, then a deep affection would have developed out of sheer need for each other.  Saying that, I wanted to try out the idea that despite being a Death Eater and a general nasty man to the general population that he was a decent human being to those that mattered to him.  I think that I've missed some drabbles along the way... Thanks for the review.  Flamethrower... that's an idea!  It's not true legilemency; she can put her entire self into the mind of the other person and not just her mind.  Imagine that her soul was severed when she was hit with the Killing curse, but her soul never left this place.
