Alan Rickman obsessed ex-civil servant now living the good life in France. I only write in the good ship SS/HG. However, if you think that the only way these two can get together is by some sort of forced marriage, 'binding' or whatever, don't read my stories. You will be disappointed.

Mmm... I like the idea of Burbage. A great character, and obviously a wonderful baddie in this series you've got going. Looking forward to more on him and Purdy!

I fucking love this! I am laughing and utterly delighted. Sure, you write some scrumptious smut (and perhaps we'll get there with this one someday? despite the rating?), but this is just too much. It's like the best jelly-filled doughnuts--soft and sweet, but it's practically a sin and you want to eat twelve of them. And you end up with powder all over your face.
Maybe not that last part. But anyway--love it! Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Thanks, well I can't promise smut - although sylvanawood did suggest I do a missing scene at some point - we shall see how the mood takes me.
i loved this chapter! what with shirtless!severus and hermione being caught red-handed, and the promise of finding out about the raven, and - perhaps best of all - house-elf meddling into the affairs (one can only hope!) of headmistress granger and headmaster snape! can't wait for more!

Another brilliant chapter, you are writing a marvellous story! I love how Purdy refers to Severus as Headmaster still and by that showing him some of the honor so many others owes him. I absolutely think that Hermione should adress the problem Phienas gave her, Professor Burbage migth very well take out his feelings about his sisters death on any Slytherin, especially if said students prefers Severus to him, a man he obviously holds somewhat responsible for his sisters death.
The raven, is there a story there? I know I am curious:-)) And if I had a "topless" Severus to ogle, I would have needed something a lot colder than tea to drink:-))

Severus's answer to the young Gryffindor's question about his being a Death Eater was bloody brilliant... he found a way of addressing the class that made them sit up and take notice of his advice: '...I was seduced by promises of wealth and power. I was stupid and naive...' That is a powerful admission that an obsession with the Dark Arts could lead to the loss of independence and to untold misery.Well done! I had to think quite a lot about Severus' response As the story of his part in the war would have been largely known to his class, I don't think there would have been much point in him telling them to mind their own business. And I wanted to show that time had made him less prickly about admitting his mistakes.
