Naw, I think I'm in love. Purdy must be the sweetest house elf ever.Love you story. Full of mysteries and (so far) unanswered questions. I'd ask you to write faster, but I know that the Muse doesn't appear on command. Still hoping that she will appear soon though ;-)Thanks for sharing. /M

Oh! I love founders' magic and legends. (and the darlin' House Elves, love them best of all. Dobby was my favourite character in the 7 books. And Portraits, I alwys say you can't have too many House Elves and Portraits in a story. And I am very much enjoying the msyterious gry burbage. You gotta feel for the guy, after all. I think Snape should have lied to him, told him his sister was killed quickly and painlessly. Sometimes truth is over-rated.I love Purdy's idea. This is a gem of a tale. I love the story of Slytherin's familiar, that's so neat.

Oh my goodness, not only does Dumbledore say dreadful things about Snape behind his back, but to his face. I hope it is only an act, although the character of Dumbledore in the books cetainly got more sinister as the story progressed.You're doing such a good job on this tale! It began gently and becomes more cutting, sadder, but oh so compelling!

catching up on my fan fic reading. I love this tale! YOu have House Elves doing what they do best! It makes perfect sense that they woul dhve ralized how he was trying to protect the students, and the Elves, too. Wonderful and sweet. Purdy is perfectly in character for a House elf, I think.

Oh I like the Raven thing, and the idea that Phineas watches over the Slytherins! But a vampire eating a heart as decore? I have to agree with Burbage! Yuck!Oh, just put Severus as head of House and tell pretty boy he's off his rocker! I love Purdy! Good for her!

curiouser and curiouser. i don't trust that burbage character, and not just because he asked hermione out. i can't wait to find out more about the raven. and i do believe i actually chortled with glee over the notion that the house elves might conspire to lock them in a room together! also, thanks for the tip to go back and check out that picture. yum!

I think Hermione should at least be a little bit more concerned about what happens in the Slytherin common room, she should make it clear to the Professor that a painting Phienas can visis shall hang there, it is not to be questioned. I must say I like your Purdy, that elf is rather brilliant (and somewhat Slytherin:-)) -

I love how you have written Purdy in particular, and the house elves in general. And "Adopt a Wizard Week" is the perfect solution to Severus' not wanting to "accept charity—especially from a house-elf!"And what a beautiful job the elves have doen outfitting Severus' new lab! Clearly Severus has met his match in the Hogwarts house elves. They have their own money now, and can choose for themselves how they want to spend it! Looks like our intrepid Professor is just going to have to get used to the idea of being Adopted. 'Elves is having long memories.'Well done!Beth
