So much being said, and so much withheld. Severus falling apart and Hermione's miserable. They should have kissed, he should have bolted and warded the door.Very interesting using only letters to convey this chapter - brilliantly done.

Thanks so much! It was a bit of a gamble but I wanted time to pass and the fact that their apart seems all the more poignant when they only communicate by letter, and it's so hard to say what you want in just a letter, isn't it?

YES! I am very glad they're not happy, serves them both right for being so stubborn and pig headed!
Reading their letters made me want to cry. They should be together, in each other's arms, making mad passionate love. Instead Hermione is watching pigeons poop on the roof next door and teaching the Potions class she is taking, and Severus is pining away for the lack of her.The holidays can't come soon enough to suit me. And Hermione had better come home to Severus or I'll have apoplexy! Fabulous story, neelix.Beth

She's not so sure of herself, I think... nervous about the reception she might get, his reaction, her own feelings... it's all very complicated!

Your letters were insightful, and a great long-distance story-telling aid... but I hate them! I want them to be togehter! Cuddly, hearts floating in the air, lemony together!!!!! *stamps foot*Tantrum over. Wonderful story, and I'm enjoying that you're making us wait for it!!! (The pouting is just the child in me acting out, she's rather Severus lemon addicted!!!)

Somehow I think it will be good for them if Hermione sees she can manage to live on her own again without relapsing. It will somehow even out her standing. At the moment she feels much too dependent on Severus.The parting was painful, though.

Severus is so stupid for not telling Hermione how he feels about her. I think she would've stayed if he only asked her to. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

*Sob!* The one good thing about this chapter is the fact that Hermione was sure to tell him how much she'd miss him and how hard it was that they were parting. And he agreed! Sorry to see them separated, but of course, absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

Well.. I wish I had made Severus do the knicght in shining armour bit and fly off to Paris to get her. But I didn't...

lmao... I do that too when i just can't wait! And yes.. but I think it's necessary because Severus needs a short, sharp shock to come to his senses!
