I'm a 26-year-old Accounts Payable manager for a construction company. Basically, I'm paid to write checks and intimidate the menfolk around here. I live with my boyfriend and our dog. I wasn't sucked into the HP fandom until just after the release of HBP. So, I'm a newbie compared to most of the fans out there. I've written in several other fandoms (under different pennames) - Anita Blake, Buffy, X-Files, etc.

I had to add some sort of fluffiness or it would have been too depressing. ;-)
I just love the way you describe them both, they seems so very much in character! She got a little bit deeper inside that armour, I hope he can live with that in the morning. It's not always easy to look the one you confided in in the eyes afterwards.

Thanks! I think Snape will be okay with dealing with Hermione in the morning, but he's not going to profess his love. At least not yet.

Wow. I read my share of fanfic, and to be honest, alot of it like junk food, not that great, but you find yourself eating it anyway, just because its there. Or sitcoms, not exactly theater but its what's on the tube. But your writing is nothing like that; its so *real*, I felt like I was watching this scene. Wonderful, wonderful writing. Right now this is THE story I wait for updates

OMG, that talk was sad and lovely, and something they both needed. (Of course, he could use a nice soft bed too...) You're wrapping this up in only four more chapters?? Will they successfully make the potion and use it for the special patient 
? Can I guess that "love him in my absence" refers to "love Severus"?

Oh, I really loved this chapter. I liked the imagery when she realized he was licking her hand. I could see them both perfectly. And, my, he seemed a bit "jealous" that she had a date. I really like that. Shows he's not as indifferent as he tries to pretend. Nice work.

My Lord. He doesn't have to bed her, not if he keeps that hand-licking up.This story is truly phenomenal. I think I've reviewed it on a couple different sites... I just read the latest chapter wherever it comes up first!!I think you've done a wonderful job with so many different aspects of this story... the dialogue, the mystery and intrigue, the sexual tension... they play off each other beautifully. I'm glad that you're enjoying it! Southern is so wonderful about getting these chapters up quickly on TPP. It's usually up here before any other archive validates it.
I come here by way of a recommendation from keladry_lupin's LJ last night, so I came and read through all the chapters posted so far. I appreciate the opportunity to read something different from all the other WIPs I've been following that's well-written, and got me hooked.
Your plot moves along at just the right pace, and I love how Snape's moods are so in flux as we see through Hermione's eyes.
I absolutely can't wait for more. I do hope you decide to write more in this ship. This is fantastic!

I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying it! And I'm flattered that people are rec-ing the fic. Everyone has been so welcoming in this fandom (and particularly this 'ship). As for writing more in the 'ship, I've actually already done so. I've written a one-shot for the SS/HG Fic Exchange on LJ (which should be posted sometime this month), and another untitled short story that I'm putting the finishing touches on.
Good good. Certainly need some of the much awaited interaction, proper interaction anyway. You're doing a great job with this story, I'll be sad when it's finished.

There will be a great deal of interaction between the two of them in the next chapter. Actually, the rest of the chapters involve them being together a great deal.

I do that same thing myself. I'll check several archives for updates on the stories I'm following. Some archives are a bit faster than others about getting chapters validated.

I liked that they both used aliases and that he's going to give her a go, even though it's her. I think he should grudgingly respect that she's not using her name to get things in life--though I doubt he'll admit it. Now anyway. Good start on an intriguing story.

I think Snape's refusal to say what he is *really* thinking is the most intriguing thing about him, but also the most frustrating when one is trying to write him in character.
So far, still really good. I can't pinpoint what I like about it yet, but the development and dialogue are a start. It's readable and fun. Looking forward to the next:)
