Having just discovered your story, I'm completely hooked. The title led me to expect something lighthearted and wry, which it is, but the darker mystery of the nightmares is an unexpected bonus. It gives the story such a suspenseful dimension. Really looking forward to more.

Ooch finally they get down to details. Poor Simon just can't be comfortable revealing anything personal about himself, and while Hermione has his best interests at heart, talking about these things really pushes his defensive buttons. I think that old trickster Dumbledore may have something to do with his nightmares. Maybe a carefully approached portrait consult would be helpful. Hoping that Hermione can help him, but really wanting them to pounce on each other soon too! :) PS: Baby girl arrived on the 19th, healthy and strong via c-section! We're both doing great. :)

What a nosy neighbor! Damn her and her meddlesome ways. Great chapter, I really do love their chemistry. And I suspect Mr. Non-Romance is really quite the hedonist on the inside.

Oh, I wonder what that's going to mean for their physical relationship now that she realizes he won't fall asleep in her presence. This just isn't getting any easier!I also have to say that after reading it last night, my mind kept on returning to the flying scene all day today.

I feel so sad for Simon. These nightmares are terrible and he seems to be at a breaking point. Because opening up like he did in the end is a huge clue about it. I really do hope that she'll be able to help him. Not only for the sake of the story but also because he deserves it so much after evrything he's been through.

I came across the movie this was inspired by (or you could have been inspired by the book, I guess), and I watched it last night. It was funny and touching, but I'm ever so much gladder (as I read this story for at least the third time) that you really made it your own, adding so many interesting aspects.

Hee! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I watch it whenever I know it's on. It had such a bittersweet ending, but I don't think it would have worked any other way, really. If Helene had met him before he died, and they really fell in love, his wife would have been destroyed I think. As it was, my impression, from the movie anyway as I've never actually read the book, is that Frank's wife (is it telling that I don't recall her name?) was a tad bit jealous of Helene, but was gracious and welcomed her.
